Andrea Johansen

Andrea enjoys treating individuals and helping them restore and refresh.

After an acupuncture treatment, people often report a feeling of calm. They also often sleep better, have more energy improved digestion, and less pain. Athletes get back on the pitch quicker. Some report that their emotions feel more level, and life transitions are easier (like menarche and menopause, pregnancy and delivery). Acupuncture is a way of jump-starting the body’s own natural healing mechanisms into action. It works well with other therapies, including western medicine.

During a session Andrea listens to the rhythms of the body for any imbalances or blockages. Then she uses the acupuncture treatment to remind the body of its normal balance and flow. Often this feels deeply soothing and relaxing and it is not unusual for people to drift into a restful sleep. Acupuncture naps are quite special and five minutes can feel like an hour.

In the 16 years Andrea has been practising acupuncture she has given thousands of treatments to happy patients. She is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMR0001727352) and is a professional member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) as well as the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA). Andrea is a registered provider for dozens of private health funds.

Andrea is convinced that acupuncture has the ability to bring your body’s own healing energy into balance. There are often things you need to do in your daily life in order to get the best response. This can include physical activities and exercises, dietary or lifestyle changes. Often it will be helpful to enhance your healthy approach towards life.
