Hi, I’m Cheryl, a society member and fully insured APHRA Podiatrist and ITEC Reflexologist. I’m also training to become an Aromatherapy Practitioner with The Australian College of Aromatherapy🏺🩸

Are you Diabetic? Do you have Cardiovascular health problems? Have you suffered a stroke? Do you suffer from numbness in your feet? These conditions can come hand in hand –

Do you have cold feet, numbness, a sharp pain in your leg after walking, pins and needles, or any changes in foot colour, such as redder skin? Also look for any nail changes, corns, calluses, cracked or dry skin. If you have any signs of an infection, redness, swelling, heat to an area or your skin starts to breakdown – such as via an ulcer or a crack in your heels, please seek urgent footcare. This is even more important if you have already been diagnosed with nerve damage, diabetes related-complications called ‘peripheral neuropathy’ or poor circulation in your feet called ‘peripheral vascular disease’.

Your treatment will include a foot screen which will be carried out to look at vascular supply and neurological assessment of lower limb. Podiatric foot care treatment and requirements on the day and clinical Reflexology therapy for any presenting condition.

Reflexology can help with reducing oedema by returning fluid through the veins and lymph vessels. The results are amazing and you will feel lighter in the lower limbs after receiving this therapy.

Aromatherapy oils used in this area are:- anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial Focused areas of treatment :- inflammation and oedema, nerve pain and calming and nervous tension.

The Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program (formerly known as the Enhanced Primary Care program EPC’s) is a Medicare funded service that enables GP’s and allied health care professionals (podiatrists) to appropriately manage the health care of eligible patients who have a chronic condition such as diabetes.
How patients can access the CDM Medicare service
The patients GP initiates a GP Management Plan (GPMP) and Team Care Arrangement (TCA) which outlines the patients medical history. The podiatrist will receive a copy of the GPMP/TCA plus a Medicare referral form for individual allied health services which outlines the required allied health services (up to 5 allied health visits in total per calendar year). The allied health professional should keep a copy of the referral form for 2 years.
